"Milk Carton" Treat Box

I used one of the snowmen images from The Hodge Podge Shop for this.  There are two images, one on each side of the box.  They're so quick and easy to color, it takes no time at all.  Make sure to hop over to the challenge blog because for a limited time, there's a freebie there.

I ran the box thru my Cuttlebug to cut a window and then glued down some acetate over that window.  The pattern is one that I downloaded from Create4Fun for this weeks' challenge.

I've never made one of these before, so it was a bit of a learning curve.  Next time, I'll definitely use a heavier weight cardstock.

The Character Cafe 3, 2, 1 Challenge

I'm hosting this week's Feature Friday Challenge at The Character Cafe and the challenge is a bit of a "blast off" recipe.

This week we want to see:

 - 3 Gems
 - 2 Brads
   - 1 Flower
                 - The Color Orange

So pop on over to see what's cookin' in The Character Cafe store, and then head back to the challenge blog and show us what you've got!  You could be this week's winner!

I think this stamp is so cute.  It looks to me like he's in a sugar coma (it makes me think of an overload of cookie dough from the wooden spoon in his hand).  I know that my dp and it's background look reddish in the photo, but it's actually a deep rusty orange color.  I inked the edges of all the paper and then glittered the edge of my green paper (obviously, right? ..lol)

Also entered in the following challenges:

E.A.D Designs:  color challenge
wee Memories:  #27 celebrate something
Our Creative Corner:  embellishments

City Crafter:  Rome (a vintage feel)
Tuesday Taggers:  Nursery Rhyme (is 'Twas The Night Before Christmas a nursery rhyme?)

GDT Project for Treehouse Stamps: Candy Wrapper

Here's my GDT Project this week for Treehouse Stamps.  The challenge this week is a candy wrapper.  Mine isn't exactly a candy wrapper, but DH and I are on a diet so I don't really have any candy in the house to wrap, lol.  I made a treat holder for a packet of hot chocolate and attached the image with some really thick foam I had from a pack of brads.  Then I made a holder that attached to the back for a candy cane.

Showed it to DH when I got finished and now he wants me to make him about 50 of these to give as gifts to clients.  Little does he know that if he wants 'em, he's going to help make 'em.  LOL.

Thank You Firemen

If you're looking for my The Character Cafe blog hop post:  Click Here

As a few of my online friends know, about a week ago our house caught on fire.  I don't know what the real story is, but somehow my neighbor set his house on fire and since the houses around here are built so close and there was apparently something very flammable in the room closest to our home, the side of our house burned pretty badly.

Here are a few pics of the aftermath, in case you're interested.  All I can say is how thankful I am to the Lord for keeping his hand on us that night.  It could have been so much worse.  My husband and I were both sitting in the dining room on our laptops when I heard what sounded like a tap on the window next to me.  I ignored it at first, but then I heard what sounded like a loud knock on the neighbors' window.  I got up to look and saw nothing but flames in their window.  That tap couldn't have been anything BUT the hand of God.   I grabbed the phone and we ran out the door calling 911.  At that point, I just wanted to make sure that they were out and thankfully, they were.  I don't know any details, but I do know that it started with a cigarette and alcohol was involved and I have no idea why neither one of them called 911 themselves.   I just can't thank God enough for what He did for us that night.  I shudder to think what could have happened.

This is the side of our house:                                  And this is what's left
                                                                        of our neighbor's house:

Anyway (what you're here for), I made this card to send to the firemen who save our house.  This adorable image is from Phindy's Place.  Of course all of Phindy's digis are super adorable!  And that sweet dp with the circles on it is from a candy I recently won (Thanks again Jane!).  The striped paper I made, using sticky strip, my copics and some chunky glitter (and with a LOT of help from my vacuum, lol).

GDT Card for Treehouse Stamps

I am also this month's guest designer at Treehouse Stamps.  This week's Treehouse Thursday Challenge # 070 is Spooky Colors.

I printed this adorable image out twice and cut the pumpkins and sign out of one of them and used some pop-dots.  I made the background paper with 2 different pots of glitter (which I'm STILL vacuuming up, btw) and sticky strip.
